「ほら、あなた！変なアジア人に写真撮られちゃったわよ。ドーする！ドーする！」、「あたし、やっぱりケッコーイケテルんだわ！密かに自身あったのよねー！実は！」
そんな話し声が聞こえて来そうな雰囲気だ。ブラジルは女の子が可愛くて活き活きしている。
ところで今はブラジルブームだからかなり理解が進んで来たけど、ちょっと前迄はブラジルと言えば危険な所とばかり言われていた。
その言われようが凄くて「ブラジルで腕時計をしていると、腕ごと切って盗られる！」だの「ブラジルではリックサックは全員前にしょって抱えている（確かに少しはそんな人も居る）」、「カバンを持つと狙われるから、スーパーのレジ袋しか持ってはいけない」、「バスに乗ったら最後、絶対生きて帰れない。身ぐるみ剥がれて走行中の車内から突き落とされる」などなど。
とにかく、色々なホラーストーリーが何かと語られている。とにかく色々と！！
僕は勝手にブラジル人の「怖い話が大好き」癖が話を大きくしてると思っている。

I regret that I heard so many horror stories of Brazil before arriving to
that land
for the first time in my life. My friends, ex-boss, commentator on TV,
Brazilian diplomat, and even a Brazilian lady on a plane told me that I get
my wrist or finger cut off for wearing a watch or ring in Brazil. They
say, it is for sure that I get kidnapped for hanging a camera from my neck.

So I fearfully walked down streets with my worn out T-shirt and hid a
camera deeply into a ragged knapsack. And look at what I found out...they
are all damn lies! I still have my wrist and fingers happily pressing
buttons on my camera.
Oh, the only truth I saw for myself was that Brazilian girls are beautiful.
That's a big truth!
