かつてアフリカのスイス等と言われたジンバブエは英領南ローデシアからアフリカ文化の誇りを持って成立した平和な国だった。今、ムガベ大統領の圧制が長く続いた為、国内はすっかり荒廃してしまった。
南アフリカに比べてモダンなアフリカンカルチャーの盛んな国で、他のアフリカ大陸の国が民族対立で荒れ果てた時でさえ教育次第で平和は手に入ると胸を張っていたドライバーの顔が思い出される。
平和は壊れやすい、日本だって同じ事なのだ。
Listening to bombs killing people around the world where I once set my foot in for a peaceful journey. It’s of course very sad to know that the same land I’ve seen in my life as of joy is now devastated. But what’s more shocking is that the realization of how fragile peace is in our society. This peaceful land that I live in, where people often claim that we’ve become numb of the stable state, was once totally erased by bombs and can once become the same at any time.
