「シクロ」アジアの色々な国々で、或は中南米の国でもこの風情溢れる乗り物に出会う。
静かな町並みを緩やかに進むこの乗り物がとても好きだ、然し乍ら最も苦手な物でもある。
と言うのも、暑い南国の日差しを受けて、漕ぎ手の背中を伝う汗を見ていると、「キツそうだね！ちょっと交代しようか？」等と言いたくなってしまうのだ。
生来の貧乏性のせいか尊大ぶった態度に見えてやしないか心配してしまうのだ。
威張った人は大嫌い！自分も威張った態度を人に対してしたくない！そんな理想を掲げた僕には、シクロは心穏やかに乗れない事が多いのだ。
Cyclos are not my type of transportation, although there are many opportunities to ride on cyclos while traveling. Cyclos have 2 or 3 seats attached on a bicycle and the rider takes his customers with his feet. What I don’t like about cyclos is that I can see the rider’s labor done for the sake of my comfort. When I see his sweat running and thighs getting stiff by riding on slopes, I feel like jumping off from a seat and wanting to help out the labor. I just can’t sit on a seat and feel like a king…
