アーティストとはジャンルを限らずわがままと相場は決まっている。
その中でもとりわけ建築家とは本当にわがままなエゴイストだと思う。
歴史に名を残す様な建築物は決まって非常識な建築家のわがままに支えられていると言っても過言ではない。
私自身、建築家と一緒に仕事をして思うのは、「よくこうゆう事を人にやれと言えるな」と驚き、そしてアンバランスがバランスした物の中で放つ光の美しさだ。
Architects are egoists. No offense to them, but I just feel that they’ve got to be somewhat egoistic in order to create their dream buildings. This is so for any types of artists, but what is more special in architects is that architectures require money. I mean, a lot of money. They’ve got to be egoistic enough to collect money and attract people with its egoistic charm.
