アメリカより長らくテロ支援国家、テロ国家と非難されるキューバ。そして独裁者と言われるフェデル・カストロ。国交を断絶し、自国民の渡航を禁止し、経済制裁を続けるアメリカ。
そしてグアンタナモ基地の問題。この如何なる国の法律も及ばない閉ざされた基地の周辺はキューバの一般地図上には何も記されない空白地帯となっているが、ゲートの向こうの地雷原にアメリカの公に出来ない恥部が潜んでいるのは明白だ。
僕はジャーナリストではないが、キューバを訪ね、地雷原を閉ざすゲートの前まで行ってみた、ハバナ郊外の集合住宅に暮らす一般庶民の家にも上げてもらった。キューバは教育レベルがとても高いため上昇志向の強い若者は富を求めて亡命を試みる者もいるが、殆どのキューバ人はキャピタリズムの問題を理解した上で今のカストロ体制を支持しているように思う。殆どの中南米の国で起きる教育や医療の問題をキューバは克服しているのだ。
アメリカでさえ克服出来ないこの問題（ハリケーンであらわになった、ルイジアナの問題、昨年ルイジアナを訪れた時未だに救済されない貧困層の問題を痛感した）
キューバ革命以降キューバが他国に侵攻したという話は無いが、アメリカの軍事活動や暗殺活動は止む事が無い。真のテロ国家とはどの国かお判りだろうか？

Visiting Cuba makes you wonder why the American government openly disgraces the nation as one of the terrorist nations. By talking to some Cubans, it is easy to understand that the nation offers adequate liberal education for all. Some of course opposes Castro’s socialism policies (as there are always some that opposes its own policies), yet many of them approves the government by understanding the pros and cons of both capitalism and socialism society. It’s true that people are not “free” as in other nations, yet is it really so bad to be called as a terrorist nation?
